How we verify every worker
A rigorous multi-step process before anyone can accept their first task
ID Verification
Every worker verifies their identity with a government-issued ID. We use advanced document verification technology to ensure authenticity.
Background Checks
Comprehensive background screening through Checkr, including criminal history, sex offender registry, and global watchlist checks.
Skill Assessment
Workers complete skill-specific assessments for their chosen categories. Only those who demonstrate competence get approved.
Ongoing Monitoring
Background checks are refreshed annually. Workers with ratings below 4.0 are reviewed and may be removed from the platform.

Every task completed through RentAHuman is automatically covered by our master liability insurance policy, underwritten by a nationally-recognized carrier.

How escrow works
When you hire a worker, the agreed payment amount is charged to your payment method and held in a secure escrow account powered by Stripe. The worker can see the funds are reserved but cannot access them. Once you confirm the task is completed to your satisfaction, the funds are released to the worker. If there's a dispute, the funds remain in escrow until resolution.

Review & Investigation
Our trust & safety team reviews the claim, gathering information from both parties within 24 hours.
Mediation
We facilitate a resolution between both parties. Most disputes are resolved at this stage.
Resolution
If mediation fails, our team makes a final decision. Refunds are issued within 3-5 business days when warranted.

- Never accept payment outside the platform

- Report any inappropriate requests or behavior
